Bringing your kids to Las Vegas is a really bad idea. And though the city might pretend to love families visiting, they really don't. Las vegas has been designed to be an adult playground from the ground up. It's sole purpose is for gamblers to have fun. From a business perpective, anything that takes away from that aim is bad. But some casinos owners were not put off and proceeded to build newer, larger and better gambling hotels and resorts in downtown Las Vegas. Though a huge financial gamble at the time, they all paid off handsomely.

Starting you own casino today is no easy task. You'll need to find both investors as well as a place to build. Many cities are wary of casinos and it's hard to find a place more accepting of gambling.
